About LeakRush and How We Write These Guides
Who LeakRush is, what we do and don’t do, and how we research, source and update the water damage guides on this site.
Short answer
LeakRush handles emergency water extraction and drying for homes and businesses in Mesquite, Texas. These guides are written to be accurate and checkable. Texas insurance and licensing rules come from the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and the Texas statutes. Weather history comes from the National Weather Service, and city contact numbers come from the City of Mesquite. We re-check the guides after every freeze and storm season.
What does LeakRush do?
- Emergency water extraction after burst pipes, slab leaks, floods, sewage backups and ceiling leaks
- Moisture mapping with meters and a thermal camera, so the real wet area is measured
- Structural drying with dehumidifiers and air movers, to the dry standard
- Photos, moisture readings and drying logs that you and your adjuster can use
- Homes, rentals, offices, shops, churches and restaurants in Mesquite
What don’t we do?
- Negotiate your insurance claim. Texas Insurance Code Section 4102.163 bars contractors from acting as public adjusters on jobs they do.
- Offer to waive or cover your deductible. Texas law prohibits it.
- Repair pipes, roofs or air conditioners. A plumber, roofer or HVAC technician fixes the source. We handle the water.
- Remove mold covering 25 contiguous square feet or more. Texas requires a TDLR license for that work, and we’ll tell you when it applies.
Why do you publish prices and legal rules?
Most restoration websites say call for a quote and leave it there. We think you should know the range before anybody shows up, and know which promises a contractor is and isn’t allowed to make. People call us on the worst day of their month. They deserve straight answers, so that’s what these pages try to be.
How are these guides written and checked?
- Official sources first. Rules about insurance, licensing and landlords come from state agencies and the statutes themselves, not from other companies’ blogs.
- Dated, sourced local facts. Weather events and sewer overloads are described with their dates and linked to the original reporting or National Weather Service records.
- Costs labeled as market ranges. Price figures come from published cost guides and are labeled as market ranges, never presented as a quote.
- Nothing we can’t back up. We publish credentials, license numbers, reviews and response times only when they exist and can be verified.
- Updated on a schedule. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed, and we re-check them after every freeze and storm season.

About questions, answered
Who writes these guides?
LeakRush. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed, and the facts in it come from the official sources listed on this page.
Are the prices on this site quotes?
No. Price figures are published market ranges, labeled as such. You get a written estimate before any work starts.
Is this legal or insurance advice?
No. It’s general information to help you ask better questions. Your policy wording and your own situation decide the details, so ask your insurance agent or an attorney.

Does LeakRush hold licenses or certifications?
We list certifications and license numbers on this site only once they can be verified, and you should ask any contractor for proof of certification and insurance before work starts. For mold covering 25 or more contiguous square feet, Texas requires a TDLR-licensed remediator, and we’ll tell you when that applies. The Texas insurance guide covers the other rules.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes: offices, shops, restaurants and churches in Mesquite. We section off the wet area so the rest of the space can stay open where it’s safe. Our water damage services cover the same situations for businesses.
How do you decide what to remove from my house?
Moisture mapping decides. Materials that can’t be dried to the dry standard, or that touched contaminated water, come out. You get a photo and a reason for each piece before it goes, and nothing is removed without your signature.
How should I compare restoration companies?
Compare the written estimates line by line: rooms covered, equipment and days, what comes out, and whether moisture readings are shared. Be wary of anyone who offers to cover your deductible or promises what insurance will pay, because Texas law bars both. See the water extraction cost guide.
